Research
The Institute for Solid State Research (IFF) is devoted to fundamental and applied research and development, which a special emphasis on the fields of solid state and materials research. In an interdisciplinary approach, it combines fundamental research in physics, chemistry and material science with the specific needs of technological application. The IFF applies a variety of sophisticated experimental methods which cover the fields of applied as well as fundamental solid state research. The main directions of the research at the IFF, which are embedded in the research structure of the IFW, focus on the following topics:
- Transition Metal Oxides
- Carbon Nanostructures
- Electronic & Magnetic Organics
- Surface Dynamics
- Intermetallics
