Current Research Interests
1.    Semiconductor Quantum Dot (QD) structures - Fundamental growth aspects and optical properties.
InAs/GaAs(001) QDs optimized for single-QD spectroscopy; Lateral InAs QD molecules; Hierarchically self-assembled GaAs/AlGaAs QDs; Properties of ordered QD arrays; Laser processing of QDs; Basic phenomena related to the growth of GeSi/Si(001) islands.

2.     Strain-tunable QD-devices
Integration of QD-structures and optoelectronic devices onto piezoelectric actuators; investigation of strain-induced effects; broad-range and fine tuning of QD emission; combination of large strain- and electric-fields on single QDs.

3.     Thermoelectric properties of multilayers of Ge/SiGe QDs

Experience
1.    Scanning probe microscopy
Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
2.    Semiconductor epitaxial growth
III-V Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE); SiGe UHV Magnetron Sputter Epitaxy (MSE)
3.    Optical characterization
Photoluminescence (PL), micro-PL; Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy
4.    Image processing and data analysis (mainly with IDL)
