HRTEM contrast simulation: Multi-Slice Simulation 

The multi-slice method is an algorithm to simulate the interaction of an electron wave with the sample. Therefore, the sample is divided into slices in which the interaction is weak. By this method, it is possible to study non-periodic crystals like nanoparticles or crystals with defects.  Simulations are performed with the MacTempas (TotalResolution) software package.
