Abstract: The main task in this work package is to investigate new and innovative concepts for the preparation of advanced superconductors. The overriding prospective is to introduce nano-scaled defects into the material, which act as pinning centres enhancing the critical current density in magnetic fields. Different new approaches from the area of chemistry, physics and material science will be combined in order to achieve such a nano-engineered material.
