Abstract: A detailed analysis of the pinning sites inside the superconductors is necessary in order to optimise the materials for application in magnetic fields. Therefore, samples prepared in WP1 will be examined closely to identify the relevant pinning centres. The understanding of the pinning mechanism itself will enable a systematic manipulation of the superconducting properties. Advanced characterisation methods will be used to fulfil this task.
