Abstract: The application of superconducting wires in AC fields requires a special conductor design in order to reduce the ac-losses. Whereas solutions to this problem are available for PIT-conductors, completely new concepts are necessary to realize such a low ac-losses cable with coated conductors due to the tape design and the limits in handling the tapes with respect to assembling high current low AC loss cables. |

A major goal of this work package is to test the feasibility of different innovative approaches for the realisation of such a low ac-loss conductor. Furthermore, advanced measurement techniques are necessary, which will be applied and further developed in the WP.
