Cooling concepts for HTSC devices

Abstract: Reliable, liquid free cooling of superconducting power application systems will be a key factor of success for the market penetration of superconducting systems. Therefore it is necessary that the industrial partners (Siemens, ASG) define in this Key Task the requirements for the cooling systems, which are needed for the applications in view.

A special focus will be on the systems developed in KT4.2. Based on these requirements Stirling will optimize existing refrigeration systems and develop new cooling concepts for such HTSC applications in close collaboration with the other industrial partners.
