Our Girls'Day program 2026 is online

On April 23, the nationwide Girls’Day takes place once again.

Our program "Bausteine der Zukunft – Die Welt der Werkstoffe" is now online.

What do mobile phones, bicycles and space stations have in common? They are made of tailor-designed materials with precisely defined properties – lightweight, strong, electrically conductive or even nearly loss-free conductive.

During Girls’Day at IFW Dresden, girls aged 12 to 15 gain practical insights into materials research. They learn how materials are systematically analyzed and designed, explore the unique properties of elements such as carbon and various metals, visit our laboratories and workshops, and conduct their own hands-on experiments.

This event takes place
