Street Art Meets Science

An art project transforms our new construction site into a gallery of contemporary art

It’s getting colorful at the construction site for our new research building on Nöthnitzer Straße! Over the weekend, graffiti artists transformed our site into a vibrant open-air gallery. The impressive spray-painted artworks were created as part of a workshop organized by SPIKE Dresden e.V. – Youth and Cultural Center. Science meets creativity – a wonderful symbol of the diversity and openness of our institute.

Meanwhile, construction itself is visibly progressing: After the groundbreaking ceremony in April marked the official start of the project, much has happened. The excavation pit has now been completed, and each day the site takes on a new look. Final completion of the new research building is currently scheduled for mid-2029.
