Dr. Kateryna Hubenko has received a L'Oréal-UNESCO Ukrainian Award "For Women in Science" in the category "Young Scientist" in Kyiv. The Ukrainian prize is part of the global L'ORÉAL–UNESCO program 'For Women in Science', which has been promoting the increase of women's contribution to the field of scientific research at the global level since 1998, and is awarded in partnership with the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Public Organization 'Center for the Development of Corporate Social Responsibility' under the patronage of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO to honor the achievements of outstanding women researchers under 40 years old in STEM disciplines.
Dr. Kateryna Hubenko is investigating the structures and electronic properties of redox-active nanocrystals by means of x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electron energy-loss spectroscopy at IFW Dresden.
