The international workshop “Magnetic Resonance of Correlated Electron Materials" will take place on 17-22 September 2023, in Dresden, Germany. The workshop is inspired by two very successful conferences held in Trogir, Croatia, in 2010 and 2011, and a similar workshop organized by Jürgen Haase in Dresden in 2005. These workshops brought together experts and young scientists interested in the local properties of correlated electron materials, investigated by NMR and other magnetic resonance techniques.
The workshop in Dresden is part of the Alexander von Humboldt research group linkage program between Germany and Croatia, and it is kindly supported by the host institute, the IFW Dresden, where the workshop will take place.
The focus of the work shop is on the abilities of magnetic resonance techniques to provide insight into outstanding physical problems of correlated electron materials. It will cover topical results on: superconductors and nematic materials, topological insulators and Weyl semimetals, quantum magnets, molecular magnets and spin liquids, as well as advances in magnetic resonance techniques, such as NV sensing, uniaxial strain, beta-NMR, muSR, ESR, and of course NMR.
The target audience is both experimental and theoretical researchers, as well as PhD students specializing in the field. The workshop is open to exploring relations between NMR and other methods, as well as to introduce physical problems to which NMR investigations may contribute.
The registration is still open until May 15th with reduced fee of only 200 Euro (100 Euro for PhD students). After May 15th, the fee will be 250 (125) Euro and only poster contributions will be accepted.
This website will be continuously updated and will provide you with all necessary information.
If you have questions, send an email to magres2023(at)ifw-dresden.de.
For your information: we have 25 invited talks (30+10 min), and about 30 slots for contributed talks (15+5 min). There will be two poster sessions on Tuesday and Thursday, both of which are planned as “Dinner and Science” events with warm and cold buffet and drinks. The program committee will decide who will be accepted for a contributed talk and who can show their results as a poster. The posters will stay in the atrium in front of the lecture hall in the IFW Dresden during the whole conference. There will be a welcome event and registration in the Intercity hotel (see map below) on 17th of September 2023, starting at 18:00.
