Manufacturing of exact gas mixtures

Using the DIGAMIX 6KM 501 gas mixing pump from Wösthoff Messtechnik, calibration gases according to DIN EN ISO 51898 and ISO 6145-2 can be produced in an absolute volumetric process. The composition of the calibration gases is only determined via the stroke volume and the ratio of the number of strokes of the piston pumps. It is independent of the gases to be mixed. Downstream of the pumps, the gas components are homogenized in specially designed mixing vessels. The gas mixtures produced in this way are directly traceable to SI units. 2- or 4-component gas mixtures can be produced in various mixing ratios with contents down to the ppm range.

Nominal flow rate: approx. 65 l/h

Dynamic production of calibration gases for 2-component gas mixtures with proportions

  • Gas A: 0 - 100% in 100 linear steps of 1%
  • Gas B: 0 - 100% in 100 linear steps of 1%

As well as numerous other parts when setting the flow rates deviating from the nominal delivery rate or for 4-component gas mixtures with proportions

  • Gas A: 0 - 10% in 10 linear steps of 1%
  • Gas B: 0 - 100% in 10 linear steps of 10
  • Gas C: 0 - 10% in 10 linear steps of 1%
  • Gas D: 0 - 100% in 10 linear steps of 10%

The mixing process can be logged using the diagnostic interface on the pump and the associated software. The number of strokes and the reduction of the number of strokes are recorded as well as a target value estimate of the set amount of substance / volume according to DIN 51898-1.
