Interfacial phenomena, nucleation and phase formation at solid/liquid interfaces

Wetting, interfacial reactions, nucleation and phase formation at the solid-liquid interfaces play an important role in alloy casting, fabrication of composites, and joining of ceramic parts. We investigate these phenomena by sessile-drop method and analyse the microstructure of solidified parts using XRD, SEM/EDX, computed X-ray tomography.
